Shake My Head

At the Cancer clinic this morning, the guy in line behind me checked in reeking of cigarette smoke.  I just don’t understand some people. I don’t know what he has, but you would think that cancer would be a wake up call to stop using the cancer sticks.

Unintentional Radio Silence

Life sometimes gets in the way.  When that happens to me, silence ensues. Since my last post, I have had a diagnosis. I have had surgery. I have had 3 of 6 infusions.  My 4th is tomorrow. I continue to work when I am able, which averages to 32 hours a week.  Not bad, really….

Bad at documenting

I had planned to take a photo before all of my major appointments.  It turns out that I simply cannot remember to take the photos before all of my major appointments.  It’s like I have some disease that makes me so averse to selfies that I even forget ones that I meant to take.

Food choices

I find that I approach live one day at a time.  As  a result I have inadvertently forgotten things that need to be done until the last minute. Take today for instance.  I have a PET scan scheduled for Friday.  I vaguely recall the scheduler telling me that I needed to follow a low carb…

Pokemon and other news

Pokemon Go’s combat technique confounds me.  I made my first visit to a gym yesterday and got crushed.  Luckily it was a Team Mystic gym, so there was no real damage done to my pokemon. In other news, I had my MRI on Saturday and am waiting for results.  I have an appointment on Friday…

Gotta catch em all

In all seriousness, I want to thank the folks at Niantic for their timing.  They released Pokemon Go! last Thursday.  I know have something that I can do that gets me moving and distracts me from my cancer diagnosis. I currently have 35 critters in my pokedex. I am level 10 and have not yet…

Signs

You know your day is going to be bad when someone from your doctor’s office calls at 8:30 am saying that the doctor wants to see you at 5:30 pm. It’s especially bad when that doctor is your oncologist.

Random Update Follow Up

Biopsy results are in.  It’s cancer.  Definitely. I’m not making this up.  There’s another appointment with the doctor this afternoon.  At that time I’ll learn whether it’s a recurrence of breast cancer or if it’s some sort of lymphoma. 2016 is definitely not my favorite year by far.

Random Update

My holiday weekend has started with a fine needle biopsy of one of my axial lymph nodes.  How’s your day going?

Gamingpalooza

It’s Wednesday, which means I’m between gaming events.  Last weekend it was Origins Game Fair.  This weekend is JAFAX. Origins was fabulous as always.  I truly enjoy my time there; I also am thrilled that I did not get sick of any of the games that I taught. This weekend, Turbo and I are running…

Origins 2016

Heading out to Origins Game Fair after work today.  I’m super excited! I even colored my hair for the occasion.

Imperial Assault-ing

One of the games that we play fairly regularly is Imperial Assault by Fantasy Flight.  The latest campaign had me at the helm as the Imperial player.  We’re playing the Twin Shadows mini-campaign. It’s not going well for the Empire. Case in point:  last night’s scenario.  It needed 8 rounds to complete, or else the…
